THE SICILIAN DREAM

Hello, Buongiorno, Ciao! If you are a lover of Italy, a lover of Love, a believer in travel – or maybe you are just a person who understands the importance of living our dreams while we still can!? – then please keep reading.

As some of you know, I reconnected with the Greek Sicilian love of my life, Mario, for the second time in October 2022 (pictured) after 18 years of being apart and leading remarkably different, separate lives. We are still so in awe and pinch ourselves most days that we are getting another chance.

Going to Sicily together has been a dream for twenty-four years (!!).

We decided this February to make it a reality sooner than later, because at the time we both were doing pretty well financially. Our incomes have been drastically reduced recently due to unexpected shifts, however, and it seems like the responsible adult thing to do would be to cancel this dream. Our flights are non-refundable though, and I paid for our Airbnb’s up front, so…we are still going.

All that said, it is with great humility and vulnerability that I am asking if you might consider contributing anything at all ($5? $10? $50? $100?) to our SICILIAN GELATO & SPAGHETTI fund (so we can eat a little more/better – and more like the Italians we are! – for these 10 days).

Anything at all you can possibly contribute to this fairytale would be appreciated with all of our hearts.

And for those of you in NYC, please come over and let us cook a meal for you Italian style when we get back in early August!?
