The Side Quest: COVID Rolled a Crit Fail
As we approach the month mark since closing for COVID-19, things are not looking great for us. For various reasons funds were already running low by the end of winter. St Patrick’s Day and Harry Potter Pride week are very busy times that help us catch-up after the winter slow period. Now it looks like we will not be able to celebrate May the 4th, and possibly Geek Pride Day. Losing these popular events have put us in a very difficult situation.
Though, we are not announcing our closure, we will not be able to open without the assistance programs that are currently being offered for small businesses. These loans seemed like they would be a lifesaver, but as things have developed, some of these loans that were supposed to be up to 2mil are now being capped at 15k. Plus, none of these assistance programs are guaranteed. We are just so unsure of what the future hold.
So, by popular request, we are setting up a GoFundMe. Your support of the years has been amazing and right now is no different. Your kind words and messages have really helped to ease some of the stress. Every message you send to Sam and Kelly reads them out loud to each other, every venmo donation buys groceries and pays bills.
