The Sittman Ranch Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
Bill and Darla Sittman have had their lives turned upside-down by the loss of their ranch home above Lake Oroville on Wednesday, September 9th due to the Bear Fire. This fundraiser is being organized by the extended Sittman Family to support this couple who built a beautiful home together. Bill and Darla are high school sweethearts who have been married for 52 years and are now in their retirement years. Their life together is analogous to the movie "The Notebook". With tremendous effort over many years, they had created a special place to call home, built by Bill and decorated by Darla who is an artist. They invested their love and energy into this home that was tucked away in the forest, developed it in a manner that respects Mother Nature, and filled it with family memories.
While visiting relatives elsewhere, they received news from a neighbor that the fire headed toward their property. Their grandson, Austin, was watching over the residence in their absence and received very little notice to pack up all the animals and leave immediately. The property was devastated by the fire. Fortunately, nobody was injured but structures, garden, artwork, tools, vehicles, personal belongings and more were all lost. There's nothing left to return to.
Bill and Darla both have a wonderful reputation for helping others so it would be so lovely to return the favor. For those who know Bill and Darla , they live with love and never hesitate to share everything in their means to do so, and they give selflessly. It's a rare chance to give back; Bill and Darla wouldn't allow it if it weren't for this tragedy. And this fundraiser would not be established if it weren't imperative that we offer them support.
We understand that times are tough, but if you can spare even the smallest amount to help this beautiful couple recover, it would be so greatly appreciated.
