The Sock Exchange Startup Fund
How did you learn about personal finance? Hopefully not the hard way.
According to the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (gflec.org) only 33% of adults worldwide are financially literate.
According to a FINRA study in America specifically, “Over 53% of adults say thinking about their financial situation makes them anxious.” https://www.opploans.com/oppu/articles/statistics-financial-literacy/
At The Sock Exchange this made us think, “How are we sending our students out into the real world without teaching them real world skills?” We’ve set out to solve this financial illiteracy epidemic through creating interactive lesson plans that can be implemented in the classroom to break this terrible cycle. With such a massive problem, we recognize that not all students learn the same way. That's why we’ve tailored our teaching model to be unique in that it uses multiple learning styles for the most widespread retention. Our lessons include a kinesthetic, or hands on, approach along with both a visual and verbal component. This combination of learning styles is found to boost retention in all students as opposed to traditional teaching alone.Your donation will help us cover start up operating costs such as legal fees, business insurance, and launching an initial marketing campaign as we begin selling our program.
