The Spann Family

Hey family and friends. Most of y’all know my good friends Brittany and Kermit, and all they’ve been through the past 4 months. For those of you who don’t, here’s what’s been going on. Kermit went in for hip surgery in July. His surgery went well, but while they were transferring him from the OR table to his bed he went into cardiac arrest. They got his heart back started but they had to put him on a ventilator. Due to about 10 min of lack of oxygen he suffered some small brain damage. After a long 2 months of testing and procedures to improve his health he was accepted to one of the best rehabilitation centers in Georgia. He has been improving a lot and doing very well. They were expecting him to be home around thanksgiving. Due to scar tissue and inflammation from the ventilator and trachea tube, he has about 80% of his airway blocked. He will have to go through with another surgery. Kermits had to miss his beautiful twin baby boys river and Reed’s 2nd birthday, he’s also lost 2 family members during this time. While all of this has been going on Brittany has been there every step of the way. She’s has to take care of her 2 boy while trying to deal with everything else life has dealt her. She has been so strong throughout all of this. Between hospital bills and regular bills and now another surgery. I’m just here to ask you all to help take some of that stress away.
