Help Support the Spiczka and Rodriguez family

Hi, I am Ethan. My grandparents lived in this house for 50 years. My grandpa passed away last year and my family and grandmother have still been here. My grandfather was the father figure in my fathers, brother, and my life. He taught us what life is truly about, and gave us the morals that we live by till this day. He served in the military as a airplane mechanic for the Air Force. My grandmother, father, brother, his girlfriend, their daughter and I lived at the house that he bought and built for our family. The house was made in 1882 and has been with the family since my grandparents have been married. All of my family have not come from money, and had to work for everything we have. We are all hard workers and have to hustle to keep the family and house afloat. We are all independent and learned life the hard way. We all try to honor my grandfather and live by his legacy. We were trying everything we could do to keep the house that was left for us. We have recently came across many obstacles we needed to overcome to keep the house and the family together. On Sunday morning I woke up to my brother pounding on the garage door where I have been staying, he was in a panic saying the house is on fire and my dad is dead. I immediately ran into the house, grabbed the fire extinguisher and ran upstairs to try and save my dad. By the time I got upstairs the smoke was so thick that I couldn’t even crawl on the floor. I tried to stand up or even walk but I couldn’t, the smoke was burning my skin and filling my lungs without breathing. I got out of the house and luckily everyone else and our pets made it out of the house. The fire department came and took the fire out, and my father was pronounced dead at the scence. My brother got to the house and went upstairs to use the restroom and saw some smoke coming out of my father’s room. He kicked the door in and the smoke came pouring out. He stepped back downstairs to alert the family, went back upstairs to save my grandmother and brought her outside, and by the third time he went upstairs he couldn’t make it to the restroom let alone make it to my dads room. That’s when he woke me up. If my brother didn’t get back to the house when he did there is a good chance that the whole house would’ve burned down and there would’ve been more casualties. The firefighters took out the fire and saw my dad and said holy shit there is a person in here. They brought him out and layed him on the ground and put a sheet on him. My father has been a long time alcoholic and has been struggling with addiction most of his life. We have been helping him to try and get past it and recently he started to make progress. Just this week he realized that his addiction hurts everyone in the house and that he want to stop and be better for him and the family. I started to see him make progress on this and want to be better for him and us. My brother and I grew up without a father due to his addiction and as soon as we see a change and progress he dies in fire. The fire started in his room and he was unable to make it out or be saved. My niece, grandmother and I have been staying in a expensive hotel because it was the only place that had a room available. But our stay ends on Monday at 12pm. My brother, his girl, and our 3 dogs have been staying in the detached garage at the house. The dogs are support animals for her and they wouldn’t be able to be separated for each other. We are all trying to figure out places to stay and are waiting on a inspection on the house to see what we can do. All of our belongings and important items were destroyed by the fire or water by the firehouse. In the end we all are independent and hardworkers and we will make it through as a family, but it would be nice to be able to get some support to help our family through this time. The family doesn’t have much and what we had is now gone. We have been setback to rock bottom and would appreciate some help to build the family back together and to find a place for us to stay. We appreciate your generosity as it is truly helping my family during this tough time. All donations will be going to supplies and towards a place for my family to stay.
