The Sport of Judo In memory of Dan Gribben

Good day, my name is Susan Gribben, I am creating this Go Fund Me Page in honor of my brother Danial Gribben who was born on June 12, 1962. 

We were all born and raised in the “Sport of JUDO”. Sadly, Dan passed away suddenly on Friday, April 14th, 2023. In honor of my brother, I would like to set up a “GO FUND ME” and all money raised will go back into the Sport he loved “JUDO” in his memory. 

A bit about my brother. 

Money raised will go to the clubs listed at the bottom of our story and the money will be distributed evenly between these two clubs as Dan Gribben's Legacy will continue through these two clubs.

DAN GRIBBEN, in 1984 took over our father's Judo Club (KIICHI-SAI Martial Arts) which means in English “Dwelling of Unity” and built this club up to be one of the top clubs in Ontario. Dan was a man who was so caring and so giving, a man with integrity, a man who put the needs of other people before his needs, and a man who helped so many people down on their luck and directed their lives down a path of success. With each person he touched and there were many lives have been profoundly impacted positively.

Dan was a great inspiration to young children growing up and was a true leader in his community and always put children first. All people who knew Dan have been affected by his death and the messages of their stories are endless since his passing, each one of these stories will be on display at his Celebration of life.

Dan’s Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, between 2 pm and 5 pm at the Whitby Legion (Ontario Branch No 112) – 117 Byron Street South, Whitby. Funeral Service: the date has not yet been fully confirmed, please stay tuned.

In memory of my brother Dan, I am creating this “GO FUND ME PAGE” and this money raised will be given back to the sport of Judo in honor of my brother Sensei Dan Gribben (Yondan).
