The Sproston Family

On July 21, Kala and Shawn welcomed their 3rd child into this World.. Finally a little girl, baby Acelynn was finally here but instead of enjoying their new daughter, they have been hit with one punch after another. Kala suffered some complications from her C-section.. Her incision site is still open causing her to have to be seen at a wound clinice for packing weekly. Monday she began running a high fever sending her to the Hospital. They did some scans and found infection along her insicion as well as some issues with her spine and back joints. They are still trying to figure out what exactly is going on doing testing for bone infections.

On top of all this mess. Her oldest son started feeling sick with what they thought was just a sinus infection, however, he tested positive for Covid and tonight baby Acelynn started running a high fever so she was taken to the ER where she also tested positive for the virus. Acelynn has been transferred to Iowa City for observation.

Kala and Shawn again have to separate their family. Shawn at home with their boys taking care of them while Kala makes the drive to Iowa City alone (while sick fighting this infection) to be with the baby.. Shawn has to take unpaid time off from work while the medical bills are piling up so that he can care for the boys while Kala and Acelynn are 2 hours away from him dealing with this nightmare on their own.
