THE STRING PROJECT WORLD TOUR

Donation protected
Photographers Chelsea Nix (USA) and Mariano Cortez (Argentina), met in Kolkata, India in 2012. They both have a dream and vision of spreading hope and kindness through their photography. In January 2018 the couple came up with an idea, creating a project that connects the viewer to the image in a more tangible way, bringing the photograph to life. The idea was born and called THE STRING PROJECT which  features photographs from around the world of people holding the same string, "a visible representation symbolizing an invisible connection." The couple’s work was well received at an art competition in Michigan and now they want to spread the message to more people and take the project back to the countries they visited and photographed showing those photographed their picture for the first time.

The team will embark on a World Tour, visiting 5 different continents and the project will be exhibited indoors and outdoors in both public spaces and private galleries. From the historical city of ancient Rome to some of the most remote villages in the Himalayan Mountains, thousands of people from all corners of the world will be offered the opportunity to be a part of the experience. This GoFundMe will help spread the idea that we are all connected. All funds raised will help assist the team with their travel expenses and supplies for their World Tour as they strive to encourage cultural awareness, understanding and unity through the common thread of art, conversation, empathy and compassion.
