The sudden death of Istvan Szabo

Hi, my name is Rania and I am creating this fundraiser for a wonderful family that quickly became a part of ours over the years… please read on.

Timea and Istvan immigrated from Hungary in search for a better life for their family with their two children, Veronika and Mate. We met them when Timea came along and became the wonderful nanny we needed for our youngest, Angelina. Timea was an amazing caretaker for Angelina - caring, thoughtful, responsible, hard working, and always went above and beyond. Without family or many friends in the states, we quickly became both friends and family over the years we knew each other.

Last year, Timea and Istvan moved down to Florida to fulfill the American Dream of buying their first home. Istvan was the primary breadwinner while Timea worked part time to make ends meet.

On July 6th, the family had gone food shopping, and were going about their daily chores. Istvan had dropped off Timea for her college class and was to return to pick her up an hour later. He never showed up.

Sadly, Istvan was found deceased by his daughter in his Florida home on July 6th. Istvan was 43 years old.

Istvan had just ran a 5K marathon in the Florida summer heat a couple days prior and always had big plans for his family.

With Istvan as the primary head of household, Timea is left to care for the family without a full time job. Her two children, Mate (13 years old) and Veronika (14 years old) are dependent on her. She needs to cover funeral home costs, as well as bills, groceries, and kid’s expenses. She will need time to get her drivers license (since Istvan always drove), as well as pay for her daughter’s driving courses so she can rely on her to help with the responsibilities she now has to have.

Istvan didn’t have any life insurance or a back up plan for the family.
