Help with Unexpected Passing of Both Sally and Annie Maki
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of two incredibly beautiful and kind sisters, Sally and Annie Maki.
Sally was someone who connected deeply with her friends and loved ones. She was always helpful, sweet, and lived life to the fullest including her many travels, going to festivals including Burning Man, and helping as the primary supporter of her dear sister Annie Maki and her beloved niece Kalana.
For those that knew Sally in the last few years of her life, her battle with mental illness was significant. She was still striving to make progress and get herself the help she needed, but her life ended tragically last Thursday, December 12th, 2024.
Her sister, Annie Maki, who also struggled with severe mental illness passed away earlier this year in June.
Sally took the sudden and unexpected passing of her sister Annie very hard. The two of them grew up depending on one another as their parents passed early on in their lives. Sally always did the best for her family and supported them by working many different types of jobs until she ended up working in tech.
Sally was one of the kindest and sweetest people that I have ever been graced to meet in this world. She was fun, funny, super sharp and smart, resourceful, and always trying to make the world a better place.
Annie was smart, fierce, gorgeous, and a loving mother to Kalana. She possessed other worldly beauty and had a successful modeling career. She loved her only child Kalana and was a strong woman who was funny, thoughtful, independent, and enjoyed raising her farm animals and had a fondness for cats.
I am starting this GoFundMe to raise funds to help the only surviving member of the Maki family, Sally's niece Kalana/Daughter of Annie Maki. These funds can help with the cost of settling the estates of both sisters and to help Kalana as now she has lost both her mother and aunt in such a short amount of time at the young age of 19.
It is the hope that we can raise the funds to settle both estates and help Kalana through this terrible loss.
We always hoped that Sally and Annie would get better, they are both at peace now. It is my hope that we can take care of Kalana, because I know that's genuinely what Annie and Sally would have wanted.
Both Sally and Annie will be missed. They were both loved by so many people.
If you knew either one of them and loved them, which is hard not to do if you knew them at all.
Please share this GoFundMe link in your networks.
IF you are financially able, please donate what you can.
Friends of the family are planning a memorial service sometime early next year, details on that will come out as it is finalized.
Please share this post, please share your memories of Sally and Annie Maki.
Their friends are asking for any photos, videos, and memories that would help honor these beautiful sisters and help remember the good times.
Thank you,
Annie Shin, friend of Sally and Annie Maki
