The Supporting Maeghan Fund

Thank you for considering my step daughter Maeghans page. A little about Maeghan.... She's a 20 year old young woman who's working and going to school to become a teacher. She loves children and strives to help them in anyway she can. She's such an amazing spirit, extremely selfless and just creates a wake of smiles everywhere she goes. On Saturday March 3rd 2018, she went snow tubing on a hill in Coon Rapids with friends and family. She was going down a hill with her 3 year old cousin when her tube drifted tawords a tree. With no control she must have realized she was not going to be able to stop and without hesitation, she turned, putting her body between the tree and her cousin, which the doctors said saved his life. Fortunately he only got a scratch on his chin from the impact. Maeghan impacted the tree at full speed with the entire left side of her body. She was rushed by ambulance where after many scans, found she had a swollen eye, two fractures in her skull, her brain was swollen and there was bleeding around the brain which caused a severe concussion . They also found her jaw was completely broken in two places which pulled her teeth through her gums on one side. After more scans, they found 8 fractured ribs, and a fractured shoulder blade. She has a very long and painful road ahead.

I've always been the one who has worked very hard to support my family and never ask for help, especially from people I don't know. But after finding out how much the dental expenses could add up to along with medical expenses the insurance won't cover, her mom and I are looking for help to help her. She is so responsible with money and bills for her age. From 16 years old she started saving for her first car working part time at target. She saved $4500 for a down payment. This showed me such responsibility that I co- signed for the rest. She's doing such a great job with building her credit, I'd hate for it to fall apart because of this horrible incident. I'm not expecting anything, but anything will help her and would be very much appreciated. Even if you can't afford anything, please at least send prayers.
