Help The Tarazi Family Leave Gaza

Donation protected

I am Ibrahim Tarazi, a Palestinian Christian living in Gaza with my family, my mother, and father. I am 32 years old, an engineer, a soccer coach, and have lived through four wars.

After struggling for 7 years to find employment, I found a new job and began building a house.

On October 7, 2023, we woke up at 7:30am for work as usual. Except this time, we woke up to the sound of missiles and war without knowing what was happening around us.

The bombing intensified as it came close to us from a nearby aircraft.

We evacuated to the Church of St. Porphyrius, fearing for our lives.

On October 19, 2023, I was hiding in the church, and the situation was relatively calm. Suddenly and without warning, the building was bombed. It was so loud that it became silent. I woke up to find myself under the rubble, not knowing what was happening. I tried to move my legs and head, then began crawling towards the exit. Twenty people died in the building that day.

The next day, the war became more difficult for us and we moved to the Church of the Latin Convent. My workplace was bombed, and I realized that my job was gone and my dreams were destroyed. After a few days, my family house was partially bombed by tanks, and all my memories and hopes were crushed.

After some days, the church was surrounded by the army and snipers. A woman and her daughter were shot inside the church, and we were trapped inside the building with only a little food and water. I saw death that day.

Those were difficult days, and even the shelters inside the church were bombed. The hardships continue to this day. I have a dream of fleeing to any country to secure a job that guarantees my family’s future because none of life's essentials are available here anymore—no water, no electricity, no medicine, no hospitals, no gas or fuel, no communication, no internet. The situation is dire, and diseases are spreading because of the conditions.

Today is 142 day of war, I have a visa to Australia and I cannot go because I have no funds.
Everyday is going more difficult .
I need to leave Gaza, and the funding needed for this equals $50,000 CAD.

$32,000: $10,700 × 3 to coordinate an exit through the Egypt crossing.

$4,000: Expenses for staying in Egypt until departure.

$8,000: Airplane tickets to leave Egypt.

$2,000: Food and housing at my location until I find work in Australia.

I also need funds for medical treatment for my legs, and the percentage that goes to the fundraising platform.

I hope and pray for your support so that I can get my family out of Gaza, as they deserve to live in peace.

Thank you.
