Honor Tiffany’s memory & support the Ting Family
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Jade Tan. I am a dear friend of Tiffany Chiu and also living with breast cancer. I was introduced to Tiffany at the time of her breast cancer diagnosis through her sister-in-law, Nancy Ting. Many of you have asked how you can support the Ting Family and Tiffany's memory. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Tiffany's family: her husband, David, and her three young children: Maddie (5 years), Caleb (3 years), and Joshua (16 months).
In November of 2020, at 32 years old, Tiffany was diagnosed with triple negative, inflammatory breast cancer, a very aggressive form of the disease, while she was pregnant with her third child, Joshua . Tiffany underwent initial chemotherapy during her pregnancy and delivered baby Joshua in April, 2021. Immediately after delivery, she continued her treatment with multiple lines of chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy, and immunotherapy. Unfortunately, despite all efforts by her medical team and currently available therapies, in January 2022, Tiffany was told that her cancer had spread extensively throughout her body. She continued to receive more radiation and other lines of chemotherapy, but unfortunately, all treatments failed her. During Tiffany's last months, she endured significant, debilitating pain and suffering and had to go back and forth to the hospital for various medical procedures as her cancer progressed. She passed away on August 13, 2022, 20 months after her diagnosis.
On a personal note, Tiffany was pure sunshine and the embodiment of how one faces adversity with strength, resilience, courage, and hope. She always had a smile on her face even when feeling at her worst and I will always remember her sweet voice. As a person also living with breast cancer and pregnant at the time of my own diagnosis, we immediately developed a deep friendship and close connection, grounded by our mutual understanding and fear of what it is like to be faced with one's mortality at a young age with young children and learning how to live with this terrible disease. We hail from the same hometown, have the same medical team, and even share the same birthday! So many times, Tiffany reached out to me and told me she was thinking of me before a scan or test, praying for my healing, asking me how my family and kids were doing, and comforting me, even when she was struggling so much. She had more empathy on her darkest days than many people do on their best days. I have always been in awe of her steadfast faith, ability to see the silver lining in every situation, courage through hurdle after hurdle, and most of all, her unwavering kindness. Above all things, I know that Tiffany's three children, Dave, and her family were her greatest joy in life. From the time she was diagnosed, she selflessly prioritized them and ensured her children would be loved and cared for. Tiffany was a remarkable mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
If you feel inclined, please consider donating to the Ting Family in honor of Tiffany. Your donations will specifically go towards Maddie’s, Caleb’s and Joshua’s education/college funds. Thank you.
