In Memory of Tracy Chen's Children
A College Education fund for the sons of Tracy Chen & Eric Liang
It can be difficult to cope with losing you a loved one. For our colleague Zhiyan "Eric" Liang, he lost not only his wife but the mother of his two wonderful boys.
Tracy Chen left this earthly realm this past weekend, October 17th, after staging a 16-month long and courageous battle against Ovarian Cancer. She leaves behind her two sons, Charles (16) and Patrick (12), her devoted husband, our colleague, and dear friend Eric Liang.
For many, losing a spouse at such a young age is inconceivable.
The person with whom you share your hopes and future dreams, and the person you start a family with leaves before their time is devastating.
For children, we know how mothers have such an impactful role in your life. They can provide love, support, and nurturing care. Now they will need to grow up without their mothers' unconditional love and support.
For Tracy, her children were her mission in life. Now we have a chance to take up that mission in her memory.
In honor of Tracy and her husband Eric, Ascentage Pharma is initiating a GoFundMe to assist and encourage them to pursue higher education for sons Charles and Patrick. Hopefully, over time they will know how much she meant to not just their family but to numerous others whose lives she touched.
To accomplish this, all proceeds from this fundraiser will be to set up an account for both Charles and Patrick under the Maryland 529 Plan College Savings Plan. We want to begin a donation process now and honor Tracy by asking for yearly donations today and annually on her birthday (January 22nd) every year until her boys are eighteen years of age.
We hope this small act of kindness towards her family will reflect the many acts of kindness shown to all of us by Tracy and Eric. Please give what you can, and contact us if you have any questions.
