The Turner Foundation Holiday Fund
Tax deductible
The Turner Foundation is committed to helping break the cycle of poverty by establishing low-income housing communities and supporting the children, families and individuals who live in these communities with programs that will substantially improve their quality of life. The Turner Foundation purchased two difficult apartment complexes on the west side of Santa Barbara and transformed them into thriving, beautiful, 100% low-income housing communities. We serve our resident families by operating Community Learning Centers (CLC) in each complex, where we provide after-school education and enrichment programs for our youth. These include onsite one-on-one tutoring (either virtual or in person), homework assistance, computer and Wi-Fi access, music lessons, art and dance lessons, plus an 8-week Summer Enrichment program...all at no cost to our resident families.
With this past year as challenging as it has been, The Turner Foundation has adapted and stepped up to meet the new and increased needs of our residents. However we need your help. 2020 has been a costly year for The Turner Foundation. Due to the pandemic, many of our community partner resources were focused on helping first responders and COVID-19 relief contributions, so they were not able to support our communities at this time. We were also not able to have our Legacy Event this year which is a mainstay of our fundraising. Despite these difficulties, we have worked extremely hard to meet the additional needs of our residents in this pandemic not only to continue our vital education and enrichment programs but to also meet the additional needs of our residents in this pandemic.
Here is where we need your help. Your donation will assist us with supporting our vital programs and resident assistance:
$10,000 - Will underwrite the costs of increased hours and educational supplies of our Remote Learning Centers, which provide a classroom setting for our kids to participate in on-line learning in the mornings, as well as additional tutor support in the afternoon.
$5,000 - Will sponsor 20 of our students attending 8-week Summer Enrichment Camp.
$2,500 - Will support The Turner Foundation Music & Imagination (TFMI) music production program, equipping our studios with professional recording equipment and developing curriculum.
$1,000 - Will provide snacks and dinner at the Community Learning Centers (CLC) during the school year and lunches during the Summer Enrichment Camp.
$500 - will provide one month of enrichment programming for our youth, such as art classes, dance classes, external partnerships, and innovative programming for our students at the Community Learning Centers.
$150 - Will sponsor a family with a $150 gift card for food and gifts during the holidays.
