Hello, I am fundraising to help my boyfriend undergo a double mastectomy late this summer. He is a trans man, and as such, is cursed with unnecessary bags of flesh which weigh him down. The overall goal of this fundraiser is to gain the funds necessary to pay for the surgery. This fundraiser is important because in Britain, trans healthcare is currently under attack and restrictions are continually being levied against the trans community to restrict access to vital healthcare which has been shown to increase the quality of life for most who seek it. This means that not only is a double mastectomy necessary to help remove the chest dysphoria that causes my boyfriend great stress and emotional pain, but there is also a level of urgency to get it done, as well as other medical methods of transition, before it becomes impossible to do so. What your generous donations will be paying for primarily is the cost of the surgery itself, with some of the overall funds paying for travel and a place to stay while he recovers, as he'll need to take life slow due to the stitches and healing process. We will be travelling to Sweden to get this surgery due to the difficulty of obtaining a gender dysphoria diagnosis in the UK, which is required for this surgery in the UK. That is why some of the funds will cover travel and hotel costs.
