The untimely passing of Thomas Adamo
Doação protegida
With enormous sadness, my family announces the sudden passing of our father, Thomas Adamo. We are so lucky to have shared our lives with him and are forever grateful for the physical reminders he left behind for us. He was known for his "dry as burnt toast" sense of humor and love for adventure. Tom always found a way to bring light and joy into a room (often with a "one-liner" from Airplane!). Even though he battled severe pain from prior injuries, he never complained or told us he suffered. His quiet demeanor and huge heart will be how those who knew him best remember him.
Our mother was the love of his life, and they spent 37 years loving their life together. They found joy in the small things together and saw each other through pain and loss and the struggle of raising a family in this world.
Our family has been blind-sided by this tragedy. Tom was diagnosed with cancer a month ago, and we all expected a long fight. We truly believed we had more time to save and prepare for the end. Unfortunately, in the span of five days, he went from climbing stairs and cracking jokes to bed-bound and then gone. The grief of losing a loved one suddenly is amplified by the burden of not having time to prepare. This is most apparent when the cost of end-of-life care and services begins to become a reality. My siblings and I are doing what we can, but it simply won't be enough to ensure my mother has something left to support herself. We are asking our friends and family to consider a small donation to ease the financial strain our mother is now facing.
Thank you for supporting our family through this difficult time.
