"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness."

Hope can't be lost. Hope is what continues to keep the family and friends of Valerie "Val" Ford Edwards grounded and prayerful after she suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke on November 7, 2020 while on her lunch break. A kind woman in a nearby area witnessed Val collapsing to the ground and called 911 and sat with her until EMS arrived. Val had brain surgery that day to remove the blood clot and was subsequently placed in a medically induced coma. Val is fighting daily to regain consciousness. The doctors informed the family that "she will never be the same" and that her recovery will be arduous and long.

For the lucky ones that have Val in your life , it's our time to step up for her while she fights for her life and repay the countless times Val has shown up for each of us in ways that only her beautiful soul can. If you landed on this page somehow or if you ever got a chance to meet her, you could not help but to love her too as her kindness and fun-spirited nature will consume you. Her smile and laughter are contagious. Of all the many life roles of Val, her devotion to her only son, Tay, is unwavering. He needs his mother and we should do everything in our power to ensure her presence in his life. Val is more than worthy of every thought, prayer, or penny that is given to her.

This tragedy has shaken those who know her to the core on multiple levels - emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Val had just begun working when this devastation struck and had not established health insurance.  Her life-sustaining medical treatment is ongoing and rising daily. Her family is horrified by the extent of medical costs that will be necessary for Val to have a decent quality of life.  Again, all thoughts, prayers or financial blessings are all welcomed and would mean so much towards the long recovery ahead for Val.

It is hoped that this campaign brings in enough donations to assist in covering the costs of her medical treatment and rehabilitation. Val will likely never be able to work again, therefore any remaining funds will be set aside on her behalf to cover living expenses.

Thank you all for any and all contributions that you’re willing to make! To all of you who continue to spread this campaign through your networks to spread the reach and pay it forward, an even bigger thank you!!
