The Vandalism Response Fund

A Gathering Place Senior Activity Center & Adult Day Health Care has recently been vandalized. Our mission is to promote independence for senior citizens and adults with special needs through social, recreational, nutritional, and wellness programs that enhance quality of life. We provide a welcoming and safe space for senior adults to gather, make friends, a have fun. Our Adult Day Health Care serves adults ages 21 with developmental delays or diagnoses that require specific care. We also are the sole provider of Meals on Wheels in our county, delivering an average of 162 meals per day, five days a week.
The vandals primarily damaged our vehicles that allow us to provide transportation assistance to seniors, as well as deliver Meals on Wheels. Two of those vehicles have wheelchair lifts to accommodate those with mobility issues. The damage includes the following:
Wheelchair Bus#1: Brick thrown through the rear glass door; fire extinguisher discharged.
Wheelchair Bus#2: Brick thrown through the rear glass door; fire extinguisher discharged.
Passenger Bus: Broken into; fire extinguisher discharged.
Minivan: Brick thrown through sliding glass door; fire extinguisher discharged.
Storage Shed #1: Door forcibly removed.
Storage Shed #2: Door handle broken; rear window shattered.
Emergency Management Trailer: Taillights broken; side lights broken.
The immediate cost for these repairs is extensive. Additional funding is needed to cover unexpected operating costs as we work to have all of our vehicles repaired. Any funds raised above those needs will go directly to the Meals on Wheels program to help us maintain and expand our meal delivery service. You may donate here, through our website by clicking HERE, or mail a check to us at 569 Jean Drive, Danville, KY 40422. Thank you so much for your generosity!!!
