The Verdi Project benefitting RAICES
Donation protected
The Verdi Project is a new concert opera organization dedicated to using music and performance to help the crisis at our borders. The plight of the the refugee and those left without a home because of war and political turmoil is a recurring theme in virtually all of the operas by Giuseppe Verdi. We have decided to use this man’s extraordinary music to give voice to the voiceless with the best tools we have - our own.
Our inaugural performance will be Don Carlos performed in concert with the original French libretto on August 23, 7:00 PM in the Theater at St. Jean in Manhattan, as a benefit for the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).
Your generous support to our GoFundMe page will help us pay for the production costs of our benefit concert, including paying for the venue and our talented instrumentalists. Thanks to the generous support of our singers and music director, who have all offered their professional services as in-kind donations, our production costs can be met today, through your support.
Proceeds from the concert will go to RAICES, a legal organization dedicated to assisting asylum seekers and those seeking entry to the United States, uniting families that have been separated, and providing language services to all who need it for legal counsel at our borders. Any additional funds raised beyond our production costs will go directly to RAICES.
To help achieve our goal of raising $10,000, every donation will receive entries into a lottery with some rather fantastic prizes including original artwork, cooking and music lessons, dinners at Michelin starred restaurants and private salon concerts with some of our soloists.
