Baby Maya’s Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Elise. I’m Maya’s Aunt & Brooke’s sister. I am creating this go fund me in hopes to take some of the financial pressure off Brooke and Mike that they were unable to prepare for.

Many of you know Maya was born 6 weeks early on 7/16/23 & spent her first 2 weeks in the NICU. On Friday, August 11th my sisters family experienced a traumatic event with Maya. Maya stopped breathing & was found lifeless and blue. Brooke was able to perform CPR and bring her back. Maya is now back in the NICU and having endless tests ran to try and figure out the cause.

Maya has tested positive for Rhinovirus & enterovirus and continued to have numerous episodes from Friday-Tuesday where she would stop breathing. Thankfully as of now Maya has only had one episode where she got upset, her heart rate dropped & she turned blue but it was not considered apneic.

Maya will be spending atleast another week in the NICU due to antibiotics she is currently on.

Brooke & Mike are both so giving with huge hearts. I know that they both hate to ask for help but with Brooke still being on maternity leave with reduced paychecks & now the added expenses from the extended NICU hospital stays, daily visits to see Maya & ridiculous cost for parking. The financial hardship is starting to hit them.

Many people have reached out to my family asking how they can help Brooke and Mike with donations & suggested we make a gofund me.

Donations will be used to help cover their trips to visit Maya as well as Maya’s medical bills.
