The Voice of the Mission Eagles, Rene Garza II

On July 3rd, 2021 The Mighty Mission Eagle Nation Lost "The Voice", Rene Garza, II.

He began his career at Pearson at 18 years old as a paraprofessional and worked his way through college and got certified as an elementary teacher and remained at Pearson Elementary until his passing.

Rene started as the voice of the Mighty Mission Eagles in 2005 and worked together with his good friend, Coach Sal Ovalle, that first year. In 2006, his wife Sandra began to spot him and did it all throughout this past tumultuous 2020 season.

He gave all his extra time to MHS athletics announcing for the boys basketball team and baseball team as well. He also was the master of ceremonies not only for the MCISD convocation but for many Football and Athletic Awards Ceremonies.

Mr. Rene Garza, will always be remembered and dearly missed by the Mighty Mission Eagles. We will miss his famous intro “And now your Mighty Mission Eagles!!!"   His voice will forever echo in Tom Landry Stadium.
