The Voyez Family- Answers For Baby Killian

Our dear friends, Danielle and Tom welcomed their baby boy Killian, on October 30th, 2018. Danielle had been on bed rest at Valley Hospital for 8 weeks prior to delivery.  At birth the doctors discovered an issue with his ability to breathe. At a day old and 4lbs 2 ozs, Killian underwent surgery for esophagus repair and remained in the NICU for 3 weeks. From this repair Killian developed tracheomalacia (a floppy airway). Killian was only home a few days before being hospitalized for severe reflux. During this hospital stay Killian experienced difficulty breathing and aspirated. This brought on additional difficulties such as a collapsed airway. These complications surpassed Valley Hospitals area of expertise causing Killian to be transferred to Columbia Presbyterian's Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in NYC. While at Columbia, Killian developed pneumonia causing more damage to his already vulnerable lungs. Due to the need to place Killian back and forth on a ventilator, he developed Laryngomalacia (a floppy airway above his vocal cords). He will most likely need another surgery to repair his trachea or a tracheostomy to provide a safe airway. Exhausting Columbia's expertise, Killian was transferred to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital in Ohio on Monday February 18th, 2019. After discussions between the family and doctors and in a search for answers, everyone agreed that the best place for Killian to receive treatment would be here because of their top rated speciality in ENT and airways. With medical bills already beginning to mount and now the family having to incur additional expense due to being so far from home, we are asking anyone who reads this....please help this family in their time of need. Any donation you are so generously willing to provide will help ease the financial burdens but more importantly show this family that no one fights for their child alone. Killian's care won't stop here, unfortunately he will require long term specialty care to reach everyday milestones.
