Help the Waigana family battle cancer
Donation protected
Hi my name is Deanne and I have created this Go Fund Me to raise money to help support my Aunty Danielle and my Uncle Drew whilst they are in Brisbane for my 9 year old cousin Haylee while she is in hospital. On Friday the 24th of November, just 10 days after our Grandad died, Haylee was diagnosed with a rare type of Leukaemia. This is called Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia or APML for short.
APML only affects 100 people every year and the treatment takes several months which means they will be away from home for Christmas and unable to work. Haylee’s treatment includes chemotherapy, blood transfusions and medications. She is also getting her blood marrow tested regularly. The likelihood of success is good, but it will be a long and challenging process.
The cancer diagnosis came after Haylee had a lot of unexplained bruises and was picked up on a blood test. Haylee was immediately called up to Townsville hospital and was transferred to Brisbane Children's hospital via plane the next morning. She was accompanied by her mum, and her dad began to drive there later that day with her two brothers. This means that my Uncle Drew and Aunty Danielle will not be able to work for a long period of time.
It would help them a lot if you could donate even if it's just small amounts. If you can't donate it will also help if you share the link so that more people can see it and donate.
I will be walking 7,500 steps a day until Christmas to show my support for Haylee. If you want to walk with me too, share your steps on the post.
