The Walking Gallery
My name is Regina Holliday. I paint to help improve health policy. I started my work by painting large murals in Washington, DC inspired by the hospitalization of my late husband Fred Holliday.
Next I started painting at medical conferences. I would attend as a keynote speaker and then stay all day and paint the words of the other speakers and give the conference organizers my painting as a gift.
Then I began painting the patient story on the backs of business suit jackets; this art movement is called The Walking Gallery. There are now over 450 people in the Walking Gallery wearing over 500 jackets. We have members in 16 countries and we continue to grow. I have painted 430 jackets and the remaining jackets were painted by the 48 other artists in the gallery movement.
I do not charge for the painting I do for The Walking Gallery. It is a mission and a labor of love, but paint costs money and so does shipping. Each jacket usually takes 8 hours to complete. If you would like to offer a donation for this worthy endeavor it would be greatly appreciated.
