Hey All. I’m Chad McGarity. Owner of The Warehouse Barbershop in Fredericton NB. Home of the best clients in the world.

Over the last 2 years due to C-19 we have been shut down 3 times, during incredibly hard times. Each time - our shop qualified for nothing from the government itself. In our shop we have done all our due diligence to protect us from “now”. And look where we are.

Recently - during our THIRD closure - we were deemed NOT essential along with Salons & Gyms. This has placed us in an incredible hard spot. While writing this - at anytime we can go visit the local mall, retail, pawn shops and heck even go get a massage.

Starting January 18th - we took a stand. We worked our barbershop and opened up our very well invested in sanitary, contact reduced, barrier location in hopes the province will recognize this is our livelihood.

What do we deem essential you ask?

- To place food on our tables.

- To make our mortgage and rent payments.

- To create a better hygiene for our clients.

- To have a sensory location for many PTSD members.

- To be recognized for our sanitary investments for these times.

Over the last 2.5 years open - The Warehouse Barbershop has lost 10s of thousands. All in good will and following suit. Not one grant to help.

Going forward we are pushing - making a splash, creating a ripple and hoping more join us on our journey. We can go as long as our licenses do not get revoked - then we will let our following push, and help.

January 18th/2022 - The Warehouse Barbershop opened its doors at 12:00 PM. By 12:40 PM we had a peace officer, with a gun on his side - (Note : Very polite and did not enjoy his duties) bring us a Cease and Desist with a note of potential $20,400 fines as a scare tactic. By 3:30 we have a fine in our hands of $580.50. Along with a court date of March 9th. We estimate we will be in around $5000+ in fines over the next few days.

We will be adding our journey here over the next “Two weeks,” but we have all heard this story. We will be strategic. Strong.

I was hesitant in making this, why you ask? But, yes, we know we do not have to do this. But with your help, we can continue pushing.

The funds will be used to cover fines, legal expenses. Expenses we have during these difficult “2 weeks” help promote small businesses & help show them they are not alone.
