Corona is affecting the whole world but potentially no one more so than people in developing countries where life is often from hand to mouth. 

Wayo Africa  are one of the leaders in providing authentic experience-based and responsible travel in Tanzania. Our green camps lead the way in sustainable accommodation in Tanzania's National Parks and their presence in these remote areas provide extra surveillance against poaching. A classic career path for Wayo's field staff is often to employ young guides who step out of street-kid programmes and local orphanages and to train them into various service-related positions. 

Its not uncommon for young boys to be trained as an activity guide and eventually end up as a fully-fledged Serengeti walking guide. Employees in this position are often the main earner in a far greater extended family. The sudden closure of such a big industry is having ripple effects all the way down the chain making life even harder in an already challenging environment for the Wayo staff and, therefore, hundreds of their family members and friends. 


You might have been on safari with many of these guides and received scrumptious gin and tonics from these waiters or perhaps you plan to in the future. They need you now more than ever to make a moderate contribution to see them through the next couple of months.

With all our safaris postponed for the foreseeable future, we have used every last financial resource we have to support our wonderful staff. We are calling on you for whatever assistance you can afford to support our efforts in supporting them.
