The Webb Family Memorial Fund

Richard 'Ric' Webb of Greer, SC suddenly and unexpectedly passed away due to heart complications on October 19, 2020. Ric and his family have lived in the Greenville area for two decades and have been active members in the Upstate community and in their church. Ric left behind his beloved wife of 22 years, Leia, and his three daughters, Ella, McKenley, and Tyler. Tyler lives and works in West Virginia, and McKenley is recently engaged and is in college living in North Carolina. Ric lived with his wife, Leia, and his 6-year-old daughter, Ella.

For those of you who knew Ric, you know that he was unlike anyone else in this world. He was hilarious, grumpy, cynical, and down-right stubborn. But he was also a sweet and loving husband, father, and friend who worked tirelessly his entire life to provide for his family. Ric loved music and was a talented musician and singer. He could play just about any instrument you gave him, but his favorite instrument was the guitar. He played nearly his entire life. He was an artist and was in the middle of writing a novel at the time of his unexpected passing. Ric meant absolutely everything to his family. He was their pillar of support, and Leia and Ella’s worlds specifically revolved around Ric.

Ella was a late life surprise for Leia and Ric, having only been born in 2014, fourteen years after their middle child, McKenley. She quickly became the biggest blessing for Leia and Ric, and their entire family though. Given the untimeliness of Ric's tragic death, Leia will have to make many adjustments to continue providing for Ella and herself as a newfound widow. Ella is only in the first grade and is still trying to comprehend that her father has passed. She is just so young, and during these tragic times, a child at her age is not expected to understand the actuality of her father not returning home.

We ask of the family’s community, in lieu of flowers and in memorial of Ric, that donations be made to the family to assist Leia and her sweet Ella in moving forward during these unprecedented financial times. Funds raised will go toward aiding the family in covering funeral and memorial expenses, and to financially support Ella long- term. The money will be used primarily, though, to assist in the costs of Leia having a 6-year-old child to raise and support without her life-long partner. With the holidays right around the corner, it is in high hopes that enough can be raised so that over the next few difficult months, and long-term, Ella and her mother, can be financially secure and regain a sense of normalcy.

The family thanks you all for your love, prayers, support, and condolences during these trying times. We appreciate you all as we come together to grieve our loss and honor our beloved father’s memory. At this time, we find great comfort in trusting in God’s plan for our family.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Leia and Ric’s oldest daughters, Tyler and McKenley, ask for continued support for their mother and baby sister as we all learn to adjust to life without our pillar of support. If you have questions about donations or desire to make separate accommodations please contact Tyler or McKenley directly. Thank you all again and God Bless.
