The Wendy Tao Transportation Fellowship Fund

This fundraiser was organized in honor of Wendy Tao, by friends and the communities that have witnessed and benefited from Wendy’s lifelong contributions to the transportation sector. All funds raised through this site will be directed to supporting students with scholastic achievements in sustainable mobility subjects related to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

 

Wendy Tao received a Master of City Planning degree and Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2007. Upon finishing her graduate studies, Wendy worked tirelessly in advancing sustainable mobility policies and solutions, from being a transportation consultant at Arup and Cambridge Systematics, to heading up Siemens’ ITS Mobility Solutions division. Outside of work, Wendy dedicated her time to serving on the board of ITS California and presiding over the Institute of Chinese Transportation Professionals Association (SF Bay Area Chapter). In all the roles that she played in transportation, Wendy was known as a collaborative problem solver, supportive colleague and an exemplary leader.

 

It is the hope of the organizers that the financial aid recipients can help extend this legacy of Wendy.

Update (2/26/2022): Thank you for the outpouring of support and generous donations.  With the family's permission, we have updated the fundraising goal in hopes of creating a multi-year scholarship/fellowship in Wendy's name.

Update (5/21/2022): ITS California and the California Transportation Foundation have kindly agreed to supporting our mission.  ITS CA has created a beautiful webpage  to advertise this annual scholarship in honor of Wendy, setting an application deadline of June 15 for this year.   Everything is in motion to transfer your donations from this GoFundMe to the scholarship account.
