The West is a Mess!
Donation protected
The west end of Windsor Ontario is a mess! Living inside a small block area there are 60-75 unfixed cats! This fairly healthy colony is cared for by a couple of caretakers, who can barely cover the cost of feeding on a regular basis, let alone medical costs and sterilization. This is why SNAP for Cats has stepped in.
We are a spay and neuter group, that helps the unfortunate felines that give birth 2-3 times a year, by fixing, vaccinating, microchipping and treating them with a product that kills worms, earmites, fleas and ticks. They are also ear tipped for easy identification as a 'fixed' cat.
After dropping notices into nearby mailboxes, notifying neighbours of our plans to trap, neuter, return, (TNR) we set up in the early hours of Oct 4th. In less than a week we've trapped 28 cats from this large colony! We've spent over $1,500. Of our fundraised money and are currently struggling with funds to continue our task. We are reaching out for help at this time to complete this area before the cold and snow sets in. Insulated shelters and heated water bowls are on hand for these strays during winter months. If you can help with any amount or
In any way please contact us. And follow this project on our Facebook group page ' snap for cats'.
Thank you in advance!!
