The wife and family of Joseph Kellum
Donation protected
On Nov. 3rd, 23yr old Joseph Kellum (AKA Junkyard Joe) lost his life after being struck by a vehicle during a service call. He was replacing tires for a big rig truck in Hartwell GA the day before when he was struck and suffered a devastating head injury. Doing his job took his life. His young wife, Johnna Kellum is now left widowed and an entire family in shock. Please help them through this hard time.
Every day men and women are sent out to fix the trucks and trailers that deliver your food, clothes, and other needs across this country. They have only flashing lights, orange cones and some reflective clothing to protect them while they work in dangerous conditions. This young man was doing his job and trying to get this vehicle back on the road, and his wife never would have imagined that he would not come home. We not only need to spread this to help this wife and family but also to spread awareness to YIELD THE LANE!!! If you see a service truck, tow truck, or any roadside assistance vehicle, move over! Allow them to do their job without fear that they will not return home. Respect the space needed for that and the fact that you are in a moving vehicle passing them, often at high speeds. This tragedy could have been prevented. Please help this young woman as she grieves a loss that I can’t possibly imagine.
To the family, I pray God brings peace to you all in this difficult time. From a person in this industry, I see this risk every day, and I can not imagine losing any of my crew or having to make that horrible call to one of the wives. I pray for you, and I pray this loss may help bring awareness to the risks that so many ignore.
