The Winters

Hi my name is jordyn, I am from Barre, Vermont . Some of you may know that last week in Vermont we got a horrible flood that was worse than hurricane Irene. Many people lost their vehicles, some lost houses and belongings. This is exactly what happened to the Winters who are my grandparents.

Their basement got flooded and water even made it to the first floor of their home they have been in for 20+ years. After the water had been taken care of, they brought items from the basement out to the backyard to get items dried off and see if any of their items/ childhood memories of their children and grandchildren’s could be saved. Last night someone decided to go on their dead-end street and steal their items from the fenced backyard.

The Winters would give their last cent in the back of their own jean pockets just to help someone else in need without hesitation.

They do not know I am doing this because they will never ever, ever ask for help especially with anything that has to do with money, they suffer in silence.

Whatever is collected is amazingly appreciated and would go towards their house, groceries, items that were stolen, and to replace damaged things like their washer and dryer, and a water heater. Anything helps for this amazing family that has been apart of the Barre community for a long, long time. Think if this was your neighbor, your parent, your grandparent, your sibling. Would you want to help them in anyway you can? I know I do for my grandparents.
