The Wolfpack Rugby Ramblers ~ Wolverhampton U16s Rugby Team

Thank you for taking the time to read about The Wolfpack Rugby Ramblers.

I am the manager of Wolverhampton U16s Rugby Team. We have a dedicated team of coaches who all volunteer three times a week to train the team and support the games. We all give many hours to our volunteering roles because we are passionate about rugby and see the benefits that being part of this team, has had on all of our boys.

Many of the players joined the team from when they were in the 'minis', aged 6/7 years. Almost 10 years later our boys have an unbreakable bond. They are a very welcoming group of young men and new players are instantly made to feel part of the team.

During this season we are fund raising to support our team and club.

Since covid our club has struggled financially and each age group has been asked to support, by raising funds to close the deficit. This will ensure that our boys and generations of boys and girls to follow, can play rugby, experience the friendships that are formed and have a safe space within their club house. The donation we would like to offer the club is £1000.

Each age group also has to be financially self-sufficient as we have to purchase things for the team throughout the season, for example first aid kits and the end of season trophies, etc. This season we would like to purchase a new kit to reflect the united team that we are. Our boys are growing at a rapid pace and are struggling to get into their kit, which is now 2 seasons old. Our new players are wearing even older kit that has been donated to them. We have a talented group of rugby players and it would be nice to reward them with a new kit. It's something our players regularly ask about. The cost of the kit is estimated at £2500.

This will be the last season for our boys in the mini and junior age group. Therefore we would like our U16s Rugby Tour to be one that they will remember!!! We want to ensure it is inclusive and all players can attend the tour. To help with the financial cost for parents we would like to raise funds to subsidise the cost for each player to attend the tour, by £100. The estimated cost for this is £2100.

This gives us a big target of £5600 to reach by March 2025.

The team has scheduled a variety of fund raising events throughout the season to help raise the funds we need. The first event is The Wolfpack Rugby Ramble...

On Sunday 3rd November 2024 our boys are doing a sponsored Rugby Ramble to raise money towards our teams target. They will be walking 'Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler Hill Circular', in Shropshire. This is approx. a distance of 9.2km at an elevation of 553m. It should take around 3.5 hours to complete. They will be completing this wearing fancy dress.

As a club we are always looking for new players in all the age groups. If you are interested in trying a new sport then please see 'Wolverhampton Rugby Union Football Club' on Facebook and get in touch.

We would appreciate it if you could donate towards The Wolfpack Rugby Ramble. Any amount donated will help us move a little closer to reaching our target.

Please also share our GoFundMe Link as this will help us too.

Thank you :-)
