The Women's Cup for Afghanistan
The Women’s Cup was founded on the notion that working towards gender equality is the only way forward. This tournament's mission was to set a new standard in Women’s Football that would inspire others around to the world to do better by women.
Over the last 10 days, a succession of Taliban victories over dozens of provincial capitals took Afghan women closer to a past they desperately wanted to leave behind. The Women’s Cup in partnership with the Mayor of Louisville, NWSL franchise Racing Louisville and Gloria Football are pleding their full support for the women in Afghanistan and are working hard to send all donations made to:
UN Women have put together a special task force to evacuate Afghan women and relocate them abroad, where they can start a new life with lodging, food, clothing and a job.
