The Wooden Nickel Flood Relief

Donation protected

Hello friends and family.

The Wooden Nickel is in need of financial help. On December 31st, San Francisco was hit by the 2nd largest storm in recorded history. Historically, Folsom street floods between 17th and 18th because of Mission Creek and it never came close to 15th Street but due to the extreme amount of rain, it flooded from 13th down to 18th, damaging most of the surrounding homes and businesses. Unfortunately, The Wooden Nickel was hit hard. We were surrounded by 3-4 feet of rain and sewage water, destroying everything in our storage garages, water/sewage damage to the floors, walls, equipment and furniture and contaminating most of our inventory. Our insurance does not cover flood or water damage and there is not much the city is doing to help small businesses that were affected. As of right now, we do not have a timeline for when we will reopen. We need help to pay for repairs, rent, new equipment, a debris box, city permits, and legal fees and most importantly, would like to give our staff some financial relief. If you have the capacity, your donation would be greatly appreciated. Through the pandemic, the loss of Roux and now the flood, it feels unending but it is through the support and generosity of our community that we’ve made it this far and for that, I thank you from my whole heart.
