The Wyse Family for Tom
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Kate Anderson & I am a family friend of the Wyse’s. We are helping to raise funds for the Wyse family as they fight for/with their 7 year old son, Tom.
Tom recently had some tests run (mostly because of the “growing pains” he had been experiencing at night) and whilst they were clear, on Friday the 23rd of December they found a lump.
He was admitted through Sydney Children’s Hospital ED that night and on Christmas Eve they found a mass in his body via ultrasound. Tom was then moved straight to the oncology ward and seen by the oncology team and surgical team and a CT scan was done late Christmas Eve.
On Christmas day they were given the news that no parent ever wants to receive; it was believed to be a tumour and surgery was needed to perform a biopsy. The preliminary Biopsy results confirmed it was cancer.
Tom in fact has Rhabdomyosarcoma which is a 1 in 100,000 soft tissue cancer. He has been in hospital ever since & has been receiving chemo to try to shrink the tumour.
Mel & Dave would never ask for help & are the kindest & most generous people you would ever meet. Often going above & beyond for less fortunate members of their community.
Realistically, with Tom’s diagnosis, they are in for the long haul with treatment. As horrendous as this situation is, we want to do all that we can to even slightly ease their burden.
The Wyse’s have been gradually renovating their home & one of the ways we can help is to ensure the main upstairs bathroom (which is the one closest to Tom’s room) is completed ASAP.
The funds will be used to go directly towards the completion of the upstairs bathroom. I have agreed to manage the funds & pay the tradesmen on behalf of Mel & Dave so that they are not bothered with additional tasks during this time.
Any contribution will be welcomed & appreciated.
Please share with your wider community with sincere thanks for any contribution you can make.
