The Yards Collective turns nine this October. Founded as a collaborative art space in 2011, the Yards supports a community of Rochester makers. Under the guidance of a dedicated director, propelled by the energy of volunteers, and buoyed by the creativity of members, the Yards offers Rochester a usable, affordable and accessible art space through these precarious times and beyond.
At the Yards, connections abound among makers, curators, and all sorts of patrons of the Rochester Public Market. In the Before-Times, our space was trafficked to the tune of community programming, gallery openings, studio visits, residency observations, and pop ups that highlighted emerging artists. Recognizing the need to evolve according to the best safety practices, we aim to use this funding toward providing relief for the artists who are financially affected by the pandemic. After all, it is the 20+ makers in our studios who are the foundation of this great space.
Please support artists and our small business. Your contribution toward our $9,000 goal keeps our space afloat for six-months amid the uncertainty of COVID-19. Thank you for keeping artists working.
