The Yeker Family

To know Christopher, Stephanie, Sophie, Willa, Ruby, Jo and Nella is to love them. Thank you for loving this family through this incredibly difficult time through your care and donation.

Last Spring, Christopher and Stephanie received the news that the baby they were expecting had a hole, and a narrow aorta in her little heart.

Weeks before her due date, Stephanie needed to be in Vancouver to ensure their baby girl got the special care she needed the moment she was born.

The Yeker family gladly welcomed sweet Cornelia Joy (Nella/Nell) on October 18th, 2022. Amidst the immense joy that little Nell brought the past months have also been long and difficult for the Yeker family. Christopher and Stephanie have been divided between the daily happenings of their young family at their home in Smithers, and BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver where Nell received the special medical attention she needed.

In this short time, Nella bravely underwent two heart surgeries and stayed in the NICU. Her precious little body developed complications after her last surgery and she tragically passed away on February 7th, 2023.

After a difficult season of caring for Nell, and splitting their time and family between Smithers and Vancouver the Yeker Family is now grieving the incomprehensible loss of sweet Baby Nell.

There are so many things money cannot buy, but this season of hardship and sorrow is not without expense.

This fund is for the Yeker Family to use for any costs that would be helpful in this season of grief, and to remove any barriers that would keep them from having the space to grieve as they wish. If you are able, please consider a monetary gift to alleviate the pain of this season.
