The Yolanda Mason Memorial Fund
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is being established to help pay the funeral expenses and settle the estate of our beloved friend, Yolanda Mason.
Yolanda sufferred a heart attack on Monday, April 3rd and was in ICU on life support for a week. When doctors told her sons that no brain activity was detected, they made the agonizing decision to remove their mom from life support as she had wished in her DNR directive. Yolanda peacefully passed away at 3:36am, April 12th. She sufferred for many years from heart issues and had a heart transplant in 2009. We are thankful that she is with the Lord and no longer sufferring.
Yolanda was a doting single mother to two boys after the death of her husband many year ago. These boys are smart, kind and wise beyond their years. Yolanda would celebrate the boys on special occasions with a table full of food she would spend days preparing and would invite all of her friends over to enjoy her Filipino feast! Yolanda did not know a stranger and was always the hit of any school gathering with her famous homemade egg rolls. She even opened her home to a disabled friend and cared for him as she did her boys.
No one will replace the kindness, care and compassion Yolanda gave to those around her, and we prayerfully grieve her early departure from this earth to be with our Lord.
In an effort to help her young sons settle their mother's medical bills, funeral expenses and debt as well as establish funds for the care of the younger son - a freshman in high school, friends are reaching out to the community for help. The Masons were a part of the St. Catherine of Siena Church and Mary Immaculate Church and School communities as well as Jesuit Prepatory School, Baylor University and Boy Scouts of America. Please share with members of these communities as well as anyone who would care to help,
Thank you.
