Celebrating the inimitable life of Dr. Yonathon (Yoni) Dassa, who passed away August 23rd, 2020 at the age of 34.
After being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in January 2016, Yoni was given 6 months to live. In typical Yoni fashion, he accepted the challenge and, despite such odds, went on to become a Dental Director at Gentle Dental Brookline in 2016 , married, travelled, and brought love and joy to all he met along the way. His fun-loving, kind-spirited demeanor lives on in each of us. To read more about his cancer journey, click here .
Funds are being raised to support his wife, Edith Chang, and their two dogs, Teddy and Archie, as well as pay bills & medical expenses. Unused funds will be donated to nonprofit organizations supporting individuals throughout their cancer journey. Updates regarding a celebration of life in Yoni's memory will be posted here.
Yoni was a graduate of Boston University's School of Dental Medicine where he earned his Masters in Oral Health Sciences and Doctorate of Dental Medicine. In 2018, Yoni was recognized by the Massachusetts Dental Society with the 10 under 10 Award, which recognized him for his contributions to dentistry and the community since graduating dental school. The following year he was voted Boston's Top Dentist by Boston Magazine.
