The Young family’s home destroyed by a tornado

Hello, my name is Heidi Young. I am a sister of Donny Young. His sweet family, residing in Sherwood Shores were all home when the tornado of 3/21/2022 hit North Texas.

 

In a matter of seconds, their 1st home of their own was brutally destroyed by a tornado, leaving them with little to nothing. Any donations will be allocated to the restoration of their lives, including:

 

housing costs

food and water security

loss of possessions

medical costs

car repairs

etc.

 

We are thankful to be able to come together as a family and celebrate no loss of life, however the next few months will be incredibly challenging financially and emotionally. Please share this with others, as any help and acknowledgment will be carrying them through these times.

• Hello this is Donny Young, I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and donations. And  want to thank all of the people that have been volunteering to help clear out the destruction and cleaning up the neighborhood and our local government agencies have been out there helping everyday as well. My family and I were very lucky to make it out alive. I had ran as fast as I could to try and get them to the storm cellar but it was to late. The moment I had got to the back door the walls of the trailer had started to tear and blow away. I was screaming I just want my babies! while I was holding on to the post with my legs straight out. Thought that my family was gone right in front of me. Stephanie had grabbed baby Noah and Donny and used her body to cover them. The second the tornado had passed I immediately heard a scream and I started to throw walls and plywood off of them and there they were balled up under the walls in this very small space. We are just so glad to be back together and be alive.
