Support Ashlie and Atl’s Skating journey

Hello!
We are Ashlie (14) and Atl (16) from Streatham, South London. We’ve been training as an ice dance couple for six years, and it’s our dream to get to the Winter Youth Olympics in South Korea in January 2024. We are asking for your help to get us there.
We’ve always loved skating – but it’s expensive! We appreciate that life is more expensive for everyone now, but we also want to make our country proud and push British ice skating to the top of the medal table. We compete against skaters funded by their Governments, but that isn’t how it works here in the UK. Our parents and coaches have sacrificed a lot to get us here, for which we are eternally grateful. However, finances remain one of our biggest challenges.
It’s been too long since Torvill and Dean famously won at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics and flew the flag for British ice dance, but we are ready to take on the challenge as the next generation of British skaters.
Any contributions you make will go directly towards helping us train and compete and will be spent on things like coaching lessons, ballet classes, competition and travel fees, insurance and clothing. (A professional pair of ice skates, including the blades, can cost up to £800, and our feet are still growing, so we don’t get to keep our skates as long as we’d like!)
We have already made great progress: We were the youngest basic novice champions in 2017 and the youngest British couple to ever compete at a Junior Grand Prix in Riga this September, where we came eighth overall in our first-ever junior Grand Prix.
However, getting to the Olympics will be tough - and is not guaranteed. To make the selection, we’ll need to progress through different levels of international competitions against many world-class ice dance couples. We will require non-stop training and international travel to reach our goal, which all adds up financially.
With your help, our dreams could be one step closer to becoming a reality. Any contribution- large or small- will make a difference.
Stay tuned for regular updates on our progress along the way!
Thank you so much for your support; it means the world to us.
