The Zack Hemmer Fund

Donation protected
Zach Hemmer is a  heroic kid. I know Zach because I work with his father and consider him a dear friend. Greg Hemmer and his wife Ange are two truly amazing people. The lives they live are very unknown to most people that you see on an everyday basis. The reason why that is, Greg and Ange raise two special needs kids. Their oldest Zach is 16 and has been  diagnosed  with Autism. Zach also has a condition called Agenesis of the corpus callosum, in short ACC. This is a rare birth defect (congenital disorder) in which there is a complete or partial absence of the corpse callosum. It occurs when the corpus callosum , the band of white matter connecting the two  hemispheres  in the brain, fails to develop. They also have another son named Kaden. Kaden has also been diagnosed with Autism.
Recently, because of growth in Zach's body and the two Conditions above, the medication that Zach receives on a daily basis has had negative reactions. The negative reactions have caused Zach to have to consistently switch medications to find out the best combination and types that work so that he may lead a life that everyone deserves. This is not an easy task as it is a multi day process to do. They have to start him off slow, try it for awhile, then take him off of it slowly. During these times things can become come extremely challenging for Zach and the rest of his family. I will not go into detail of it as this is my friend and I do not wish to  over step my bounds and offend him or his family. What I can tell you is the latest incident is one no parent should have to face. Since this incident occurred, Zach was hospitalized and this has caused an extremely challenging time for Zach and his family. Zach was recently taken home and is trying to return to an everyday life. Greg being the amazing father he is recently stepped down from his management role with AT&T into another position within the company for a better work life balance. He wanted to ensure the safety, health, and education of his children and tend to their needs which required a different type of schedule. With Zach's incident it has caused unjust and  ridiculous medical bills, not to mention the amount of emotions, tears, and fear that he himself and the family endured.  With the way  Greg's insurance works the coverage that Zach needed is considered out of network and even then they only pay 70%. Plus they have to meet a $5000 deductible. Greg is one of the people that would give you the shirt off his back or feed you if you were hungry and wouldn't think twice. During times of life when as a child and parent you are put to the test beyond what you know physically, mentally, and emotionally. Trying to figure out how to pay so that your son is safe and cared for should not be one of the things to have to endure. Please help me help God's angels that are here with us everyday on earth. I have faith in God, but I am not the best at being a praying man. Even if you can't help out with this financially,  please donate your prayers for him and his family.  Thank you and God Bless!
