On July 11th, Joe was in a motorcycle accident that leaves him with a long road to recovery ahead.
While Joe was fortunate to have no head or spinal trauma, he suffered extensive injury to his abdomen and legs with breaks in his hips, pelvis, femur, ribs, ankle, scapula and hand. Joe was immediately transferred to Harborview Trauma Center where he remains in ICU with round the clock care.
His first surgery on Thursday, July 12th addressed his shattered hip, broken pelvis, and broken ankle. Future surgeries are certain including a hip replacement and possibly his broken wrist. While his surgical team is still evaluating his overall recovery plan, at this time they have stated Joe will be immobile for a minimum of 3 months before any rehabilitation can begin.
As the sole provider for his sweet family of four, an extended recovery time and missed work for the foreseeable months ahead creates an extreme hardship at home.
Our hope is to provide a place for anyone to give what is on their heart to contribute to the recovery of Joe and his family. We know if we work together we can get them back on their feet both literally and figuratively.
We will use this page to update on his condition as well so please stay tuned for information here to alleviate the need to communicate in so many different places.
We appreciate everyone’s concern and support and look forward to getting our guy back to healthy again!
