The Effron Zemlak Family After The Pacific Palisades Fire

Our cousin, Jill Effron, her family Jon, Avery and Logan Zemlak, are victims of the Palisades Fire. Their story is unique—and that's why we’re asking for donations to their GoFundMe.

To add to this already devastating time, this family was already dealing with caring for their disabled son. Jill gave up her career in Hollywood 13 years ago when Logan was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome as Logan’s medical needs are beyond the average. Jon, Jill, and Avery care for him 24/7. In addition, last month Jon lost his job. At this time they have no income as Jon was the main provider and are on Cobra. If that wasn’t enough, Avery is in her senior year at Palisades High School which was burned in the fire and she is also off to college in the fall.

Life as they knew it Tuesday morning is forever gone. Due to the fire, the Zemlak family is forced to relocate and navigate their new lives and all of the expenses that it will entail. This family has been through so much over the years, yet has always been the first to help others, whether raising money for Logan’s syndrome, SMS, or Avery starting a project to help kids like her who have siblings with special needs: Support the Sibs. Or Jill and Jon starting a Pamper the Parents Fund at Chai Lifeline to gift parents like them massages. This family has rarely accepted any kind of help despite their situation. But now, they truly need our support. So we are asking from the bottom of our hearts to please donate and share this story so we can ease their unfathomable financial burden and offer some relief during this incredibly difficult time.
