Thea's final push!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Thea Bull. In July this year I am going on a school trip to Kenya and I have raised all the money for this trip myself. I am really pleased to have been chosen to go as there were limited places.
Whilst we are there, we will have the chance to meet the local community, spend time with other school children and work in an orphanage.
In my interview for the trip, I spoke about one of the things I would like to do. It’s an amazing trip with lots of new experiences but I would like to find something sustainable to do too.
I want to establish a link between Devon and Kenya to help find a more sustainable way to re-use mobility aids that we do not use any more. Here in Devon, there are lots of care homes and nursing homes that get given lots of walking sticks and commodes but once the resident does not need them any more, they sit in a shed not being used. I know from speaking to my teachers that there are lots of elderly people in Kenya who would like to use these aids.
I am working with some Devon care homes and the Tiverton High School Staff to help set up this link so that at least we can start the process.
So far I have raised all the money myself and I'm very grateful to everyone who has donated. If you can help at all in my final push I would be really grateful!
