Support Thea’s fight against a rare brain tumour

Thea has brought such joy to so many people, but her little life has been so unfairly changed forever with the diagnosis of a very rare, aggressive and large brain tumour at 10 weeks of age. She’s been so strong through major emergency brain surgery, something no one that tiny should ever have to go through. The future is so uncertain, which has been awful for her family. They have been through long waits for tumour type, treatment plan and now to see if treatment works.

They are taking each hurdle as it comes with bravery; but as new parents, the whole journey has been absolutely heart breaking. All they want to do is protect her, but feel helpless as they watch her suffer through so many different interventions.

As she is too young for the gold standard treatment which is radiotherapy; she commences a European clinical trial of chemotherapy. This is a grueling regime for Thea of an inpatient stay every other week for almost a year and a half, they pray it works and that Thea is strong enough to survive it.

The family just want to give her every opportunity at a good quality of life and to show her as much life as possible. They want her to be happy, despite spending the majority of her little life in hospital.

Many people have asked how they might help, so we have created this page to raise funds to support Thea's journey. Your kind contributions will go towards:

Covering any extra costs of travel, parking, accommodation and any additional costs associated with her treatment.
Providing Thea with equipment, medical supplies, care, and therapy needs now and as she grows and adapts to life during and after treatment.
Thea's additional nutritional support and dietary needs.
Home/car adaptations, mobility aids if needed in the future.
Supporting her future needs and education so she can thrive in her own way.
Creating meaningful experiences such as special days out or short breaks to bring her joy and lasting memories, particularly if time with her is shortened by this illness. Travel insurance alone costs thousands.
Due to her still developing, there is uncertainty of her disability and future needs. Any funds not used for immediate care will be set aside for her long term wellbeing and development. Or donated to causes to support children facing similar challenges.
