Establishment of Seamore Productions

Seamore Theatre Productions will be a new theatre company in St Andrews dedicated to celebrating Scottish stories and culture. This company (and graphic) is still in the development stages so stay tuned for our 2025/26 productions. We would appreciate any contributions to bring this company to life!

I have been involved in St Andrews theatre since my first year here, and through my experiences, have noticed a distinct lack of theatre that represents my own Scottish background. This was surprising, given the reputation and pride in the town’s Scottish traditions and culture that attracts so many tourists and international students. Many students come to St Andrews with the understanding that they will be fully immersed in Scottish culture. However, I have noticed a lack of Scottish representation among the arts community, and because of this, I have decided to start my own company that will dedicate itself to putting on productions that celebrate Scottish voices and talent. This will not be a company that excludes international talent but one that hopefully showcases local stories with a more diverse team than typically seen in St Andrews.

Being an actor from the Borders, I grew up performing in small town community theatre while training every weekend in Glasgow, where my grandparents are from. The name of this theatre company, Seamore Theatre Productions, is an homage to my Glasweigan heritage, after the cinema where my grandparents met as teenagers. My years of actor training in Glasgow gave me more appreciation for my Glasgow roots and Scottish theatre in general, and I want to bring the theatre that I know and love to St Andrews.
