The Explorer Travel Challenge for Wild & Free
The Explorer Travel group are doing another group challenge this June to collectively try and reach the £4000 target they set last year for Wild & Free - Rehabilitation and Release, a wildlife conservation charity that is very close to our hearts.
With only 35% of wilderness remaining in the world and a decline of wildlife population of 69% in 50 years, there is an obvious urgency to protect our fragile planet, which is exactly why we are doing this fundraising.

Wild & Free was created in 2014 by one of our colleagues, Geraldine Morelli, who presented us the work she has done to save and conserve wild animals around the world, in parallel to her travel agency. The charity supports wildlife organisations worldwide to rescue, rehabilitate and successfully release animals back to their natural habitat or to protect their habitat to let them thrive in the wild.
To date, the charity has supported 11 species in 8 countries over 4 continents. We love that 100% of the funds raised for the charity projects go to the beneficiaries and Geraldine puts on a point of honour in showing how donations help and visiting centres whenever she can.

Being in the travel industry and sending clients all over the world means that we have a responsibility to encourage sustainable travels and even go beyond by actively supporting charities. Explorer Travel is a regular donor of Wild & Free and us agents have already fundraised for various projects in the past, but this time, we are going BIG and joining forces to save wildlife!
Photo above - Explorer Travel and many agents have sponsored beehives in Tanzania to create natural fences and protect farmers' crops from African elephants, therefore also protecting elephants from being harmed.
Each agent will be taking on either a 50 mile walk/run/swim to raise at least £50 each for Wild & Free.
More specifically, our group is going to raise funds for projects directly supporting the following wild animals:
- Bornean orang-utans
- Sumatran wildlife
- African elephants
- African and Asian pangolins
Please visit the charity website to learn more about all their projects and successes .

We hope that you will support us in this challenge and donate what you can as every penny makes a difference.
Thank you very much in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us all.
